ISF-TMC workers clash over

Tensions flared at booth number 147 in Hooghly on Wednesday as allegations regarding the appointment of fake polling agents led to a volatile confrontation. The situation quickly escalated into a scuffle between supporters of the Indian Secular Front (ISF) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) directly in front of the polling station, disrupting the electoral process for voters in the vicinity.

According to representatives from the ISF, the conflict stemmed from the alleged forgery of their polling agent’s documentation. The party claimed that a Trinamool agent was illegally installed in their place. Furthermore, the ISF alleged that their legitimate agent had been subjected to overnight threats and was effectively prevented from reaching the booth to perform their duties.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, the ISF candidate from Khanakul arrived at the scene to address the situation. During the intervention, the candidate took direct action to remove the individual accused of being a fake polling agent, further intensifying the standoff between the opposing political factions present at the site.
